Current COVID-19 Policies

A Message from the COVID Task Force:

On November 10, the Board of Trustees voted to approve a new COVID policy for First Universalist Church. When CDC levels of COVID transmission are low or medium, First Universalist will be masks-optional in the Sanctuary and the entire building. When levels are high in our community, the church will return to masks being required.

The church is awaiting air filtration devices to implement the policy in our Sanctuary, so keep an eye out for that development. As of now, masks are optional in small group meetings in the Chalice Room, the Gratitude Room, and the Clara Barton Lounge.

As we enter into this new phase of church COVID practices, a word about communication. It is still okay for someone to prefer to mask. It is also okay for groups to decide to remain masked or to decide to embrace a mixed-masking practice. What matters is that we are having the conversation and obtaining consent from people who are participating.

We continue to work toward better quality on-line worship for those who are unable to join us in person.

We thank you for your patience and support. If you have questions or comments, please feel free to drop us an email or call us. We want to hear from you! Email us at office@uuroc.org.
